Dinosaur Colouring Pages and Dino Activities
- Ages 3–10
- Free to print
- Many play on screen
Few things capture young imaginations like dinosaurs, and many children learn their first long words this way: triceratops, stegosaurus, carnivore. This collection mixes dinosaur colouring with other dino activities: a dot-to-dot dinosaur, word searches and spelling games with dinosaur words, a friendly dragon or two for fans of all things scaly, and a picture book about fossils found in the desert.

More about this collection
Use the interest while it lasts. A child who will not sit still for a spelling list will happily hunt for “fossil” and “volcano” in a word search. Our three dinosaur activity books collect counting, puzzles, tracing and colouring in one printable workbook for different ages.
Dinosaurs are also a great way into science. Talk about how we know what dinosaurs looked like, from fossils and footprints, and why scientists sometimes change their minds when they find new bones. Curious children can move on to our space and science collections.
How to use these
- Start with the colouring page, then try the word search with the same words.
- Ask your child to sort dinosaurs into plant-eaters and meat-eaters.
- Print an activity book for a long car trip or a rainy afternoon.

Questions and answers
Are there dinosaur activities for older children?
Yes. The word searches and scrambles have harder levels, and the Fossil Hunters Challenge Book is made for ages 9–11.
Did dinosaurs and people live at the same time?
No. The last large dinosaurs died out about 66 million years ago, long before the first humans. Birds are their living relatives.
Are these printables free?
Yes. Every sheet marked Free can be printed or played as often as you like, at home or in class. Premium activity books are marked.
How do I print a sheet?
Open a sheet and choose Print. It fits A4 and US Letter paper. Most sheets can also print with an answer key on a separate page.
Can children do them on a tablet?
Most can: press Play to answer on screen with instant marking and stars. Colouring and drawing pages can be done with a finger or stylus too.
