Ocean Colouring Pages: Sea Animals, Boats and Beaches

  • Ages 3–10
  • Free to print
  • Many play on screen

The sea is full of shapes children love to colour: round pufferfish, eight-armed octopuses, stripy fish, turtles with patterned shells. This collection gathers sea animals, boats and lighthouses, beach days and underwater scenes like a coral reef or a whale family, alongside drawing lessons for fish, dolphins, sharks and crabs.

More about this collection

Colouring the ocean is a good moment to talk about it, too. Where do turtles lay their eggs? Why do whales come up to breathe? Which animals live near the beach and which in deep water? Our picture books about turtle hatchlings and a glowing bay make a lovely pair with these pages.

Little ones can stick to big single animals, while older children can try the habitat scenes and add their own extra creatures. The how-to-draw lessons for whales, sharks, octopuses and crabs help them draw a whole underwater world of their own. Teachers covering habitats or the water cycle can use the scenes as a starting point for a class display about life in the sea.

How to use these

  1. Mix blues and greens for water and talk about why the sea changes colour.
  2. Count legs and arms: crab (10), octopus (8), starfish (5).
  3. Pair a reef scene with the turtle picture books.
