Free Picture Books for Kids to Read, Hear and Colour
- Ages 3–8
- Ready to print
- Many play on screen
Our picture books are original stories with full-colour illustrations: a lost lamb on a farm, a windy day that steals a hat, a market day with grandma, a pirate map, a snowman built with a friend. They are written for children aged 3 to 8 and set in families and places from around the world. Each one can be read on screen, listened to with the read-aloud voice or printed as a little book.

More about this collection
Many illustrations also come as colouring pages, so children can colour their favourite scene after reading. Retelling the story with the pictures in front of them is one of the best language exercises for young children.
Each book also has questions to talk about after reading, from simple “who was in the story?” for little ones to “why do you think she did that?” for older children. Bilingual families can read the same book in two languages, one after the other, since every story is available in all ten site languages.
How to use these
- Read once for fun, then a second time talking about the pictures.
- Colour a scene from the book and retell that part of the story.
- Print the book and staple it for a child-sized copy.
