Eid Activities and Printables for Kids

In 146 days

Muslims celebrate two Eids each year. Eid al-Fitr marks the end of Ramadan; Eid al-Adha, about two months later, comes at the time of the Hajj pilgrimage. Both are days of prayer, family visits, new clothes, special food and gifts, and of remembering people in need. Children often receive small gifts or money, called Eidi in many countries.

When is it?

  • Eid al-FitrTuesday, 9 March 2027In 146 days

Dates that follow the moon can move by a day, depending on where you live and the moon sighting.

Ideas to try

After Eid, write a short thank-you note for a gift or a visit.

  • Decorate the home

Colour lanterns and stars and hang them up for the celebration.

Good to know

These printables include an Eid lantern scene to colour, Eid word searches and spelling games, a greeting card template, a thank-you letter, drawing lessons for gifts, the moon and camels, and the Ramadan and Eid and Eid al-Adha activity books.

Because both Eids follow the Islamic lunar calendar, their dates move about eleven days earlier each year, and the exact day can vary by country depending on the moon sighting.

How to use these

  1. Print cards in colour for giving to family.
  2. Use the thank-you template for after Eid visits.
  3. Classrooms: invite families who celebrate to share, if they would like to.
