School in Canada: Kindergarten to Grade 12 and free worksheets

Kindergarten to Grade 12 with ages, how the provinces differ, and free worksheets for every grade.

Canada has no federal department of education: each of the 13 provinces and territories runs its own school system. Most follow a K–12 pattern: elementary school from Kindergarten to about Grade 6, then secondary school, with a middle or junior high school (Grades 7–9) in some provinces. High school runs from Grade 9 or 10 to Grade 11 or 12.

Compulsory schooling usually begins at about 6, when children enter Grade 1, and continues until 16 to 18 depending on the province.

Quebec is different: elementary school has six years, secondary school ends after Secondary V (the equivalent of Grade 11), and students then go to CEGEP before university.
