Age and school year

Made for ages 4–7. That’s Pre-K – Grade 2 in the US, Reception – Year 3 in England, Nursery 1 – Primary 2 in Nigeria and LKG – Class 2 in India.

Tips for parents and teachers

1. 1Turn the words into a game afterwards: find one in a book, or use it in the silliest sentence you can.
2. 2Say each word aloud together and stretch the sounds (“c-a-t”) before writing; hearing sounds makes spelling easier.
3. 3Sit beside your child and read the instructions aloud; at this age the time together matters as much as the page.
