Words have different jobs. A noun is a naming word for a person, place, animal or thing: girl, school, cat, ball. A verb is a doing word: run, jump, eat, sing.
An adjective is a describing word. It tells you more about a noun: a fluffy cat, a red ball, a tall tree. Using good adjectives helps your reader picture what you mean.
