Body parts and the five senses

Name the parts of the body and the five senses we use to explore the world.

Your body has many parts: head, neck, shoulders, arms, elbows, hands, legs, knees and feet. Each part helps you do something. Your legs help you walk and run, and your hands help you hold and build things.

You find out about the world with five senses. You see with your eyes, hear with your ears, smell with your nose, taste with your tongue and touch with your skin. Senses keep you safe: you smell smoke, hear a car coming, and feel that a pan is hot. Never look straight at the Sun, and keep loud sounds away from your ears.

Worked example

  1. Feeling hot or cold happens through the skin.
