Energy makes things happen. It can move from place to place and change from one form to another. A cell stores energy. In a circuit, electricity carries that energy to a bulb, which gives out light and heat, or to a motor, which makes something move, or to a buzzer, which makes sound.
Energy is also carried by moving things, by sound, by light and by heat. When a fast ball hits a can, energy passes to the can and it moves. The faster an object moves, the more energy it has. We get electricity from power stations, wind turbines and solar panels. Saving energy, such as switching off lights, saves money and fuel.
