Times tables are skip counting written as multiplication. The 2 times table counts in 2s: 2, 4, 6, 8. So 4 × 2 = 8 means four groups of two.
The 10 times table ends in 0: 10, 20, 30. The 5 times table ends in 5 or 0: 5, 10, 15, 20. Each 5 times fact is half of the 10 times fact: 6 × 10 = 60, so 6 × 5 = 30.
