The Lost Kite

Mia had a red kite with a long yellow tail. On a windy day, she ran to the park with her dad.
The kite flew up, up, up. Then the wind blew very hard. The string slipped out of Mia’s hand! The kite danced away over the trees.
Mia and her dad followed it. They walked past the pond and the big swings. At last they found the kite in a small apple tree. A friendly girl called Zara helped them pull it down.
“Can I fly it with you?” asked Zara. Mia smiled. “Yes! Let’s hold the string together.”
