About this activity

What your child practises

Fine motor control, hand–eye coordination and choosing colours with care.

What’s included

  • 1 picture to colour
  • Open-ended: no right or wrong answers

Age and school year

Made for ages 5–12. That’s Kindergarten – Grade 7 in the US, Year 1–8 in England, Nursery 2 – JSS 1 in Nigeria and UKG – Class 7 in India.

How to use it

  • Print it at home or school – it fits a standard A4 or US Letter page.
  • Colour it on screen in the Crayonbird studio.
  • Write on it on a tablet or touchscreen with a finger or stylus – no printer needed.

Tips for parents and teachers

  1. Offer a few colours rather than the whole box; a smaller palette leads to careful choices and finished pictures.
  2. Chat about the picture while your child works – naming objects, colours and feelings builds vocabulary.
  3. Pick a regular time – after a snack, say – so practice becomes a habit rather than a battle.
